THE SITUATION

Financial Visibility Across Multiple Revenue Streams

Most scaling businesses have the financial data they need. It lives in their accounting platform, their payment processors, and a spreadsheet someone built two years ago that everyone still uses but nobody fully trusts. The problem isn’t the data — it’s that nobody has ever connected it into one place. This case study walks through how coreVIEW built a unified financial reporting dashboard for a multi-revenue business, connecting Excel and ZohoBooks into a single live system for the first time.

The client was a multi-revenue-stream digital media business operating out of Lagos — branded content, events, newsletter advertising, and display placements across several client segments. Revenue was real and growing. But the picture of how the business was actually performing financially did not exist in any one place.

THE AUDIT

Finding the Gaps Across Disconnected Systems

The first step was auditing every data source touching the business. This is the step most implementations skip — and the reason most financial dashboards fail within six months. Clean, structured data is the foundation everything else depends on. Without it, a live dashboard doesn’t solve the problem. It just surfaces it faster.

Beyond the connectivity gap, the audit identified specific data quality issues: inconsistent transaction categorisation in ZohoBooks that needed structuring by department and cost type, and invoice data that required cleaning before it could be used reliably for cashflow analysis.

Once cleaned, structured, and connected, the data became the foundation for a five-section decision dashboard covering every layer of financial and operational performance the CEO needed to see.

A Unified Financial Reporting Dashboard

The CEO no longer opens multiple systems to answer one question. Every financial conversation — with the board, with the leadership team, with potential investors — starts from the same agreed picture. That shift, from assembling information to acting on it, is what a unified financial reporting dashboard actually delivers.

2 Data Sources Connected Into One Live View

This was a full decision system build. From initial data audit to live dashboard handover, the engagement followed five structured stages — each designed to ensure the finished system reflected the decisions leadership actually needed to make, not just the data that was available.
